The term “technical artist” may sound a bit formal or indulgent, but it’s the best way to describe my work. I use technology to create art, a term I adopted after being called a “technical artist” by a respected colleague. When asked what I do for a living, I often explain it as such.
My primary profession is as an Australian film and television sound recordist, a career I began freelancing in 1997. I am also a photographer with a passion for capturing images since 1986. Additionally, I am an avid illustrator with extensive experience in drawing and design.
Beyond my professional work, I’ve been involved in theatre and film sound design, started working in theatre lighting at 16, and transitioned into film lighting. I have a hobby in special effects, animation, and video editing, which fuels my creative pursuits. I also enjoy writing long-form content on my website—a passion I cherish.
My combined interests in technology, art, and media fuel a constant stream of ideas, often keeping me awake at night. This website aims to showcase and organize the various projects and outputs of my creative endeavors.
